(Did you notice we spell it differently also!)
At the moment though, we are measuring with non-standard units. Some older children will get to use standard units also.
When Mrs McKenzie was young we measured with inches and feet, but New Zealand changed to a metric system in the late 60s - early 70s.

Thank you for the link to your post on area.

regards
Mrs McKenzie and B4B4noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7056829017484800702.post-78323705322412055552011-03-30T12:30:34.082+13:002011-03-30T12:30:34.082+13:00Dear B4,
I like the teamwork that all of you show...Dear B4,

I like the teamwork that all of you show to solve these problems. That's such a great trait to have!

We learned about area a little bit earlier in the year. We probably use different units of measurement than you do though. We use inches, feet, and yards. I'm guessing you use millimeters, centimeters, and meters! It's interesting how different countries use different types of measurement!

My students created a video about area earlier this year. Hopefully it can help you as you learn about it too! Here's the link http://mravery.edublogs.org/2011/02/05/area/.

Good luck and keep up the great work!

Your blogging buddy,
Mr. AveryMr. Averyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12343726826300425252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7056829017484800702.post-8326910498319141102011-03-30T05:57:51.690+13:002011-03-30T05:57:51.690+13:00I love that you work as teams its so much more eff...I love that you work as teams its so much more efficient and its fun too! When one person has an idea do you find that someone else builds on it and then someone a bit more until you have something that works? The first idea might not be the greatest but is so important because it gets everyone else thinking.Ms Breyleyhttps://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/sh/BurravoePrimarySchool/noreply@blogger.com
