Dear mrs Watson Pets day is a long standing tradition in Reefton, and many New Zealand schools also run a similar day. Some have it on a school day, and some run it as a fair on a Saturday and use it as a big fundraising day with stalls and auctions etc.
I remember having a day at school each year when I was young, where the children would all make little posies and sand saucer gardens and bring pets to school.
We will take lots of photos next week to show you.
Hello B4! We are having our pet day next Wednesday! Mrs Watson is really excited because it is her first pet day since she was a child! We look forward to seeing what kinds of pets you have at your pet day! You will have to come and check out our blog to see what our pet day is like next week.
Dear Sophie I do have a pet. He is a tabby cat and he is 12 years old. For a long time he had no name because we tried different names but none of them seemed right. Then a year ago my daughter and I heard the name Seamus and it seemed to be the right name for him. he seems to like it too!
Hello B4's. We would like to take a minute to introduce ourselves. We are the Super STARS, a fourth grade class in Naugatuck, CT. We connected to your blog page via Mrs. Watson's class in Canada. We are always looking for new classes to connect with to extend our learning outside of the classroom. We think the idea of pet day is awesome! We cannot have pet day (we think because of legal issues) at our school however we do have links on our blog page that have pictures of some of our pets. We can't wait to see the photos. You have wonderful activities posted.
What is a sausage sizzle? Our teacher, Mrs. Yammine loves Science and Technology, so we would like to know what types of Science projects might be displayed on Pet Day? We would be interesting in sharing the different things we learn and compare them to what you are learning.
We are working on space exploration and are in the process of building land rovers that NASA uses to explore planets. We hope you visit our blog page to see some of the activities we've been doing. Keep up the great work!
Super STARs (and Mrs. Yammine, too!) Shoot for the STARS! at http://mrsyammine.edublogs.org
Dear Mrs Yammine Thank you for visiting us! it is always great to meet new friends.
I will be sure to take photos of the science projects if the Year 8/9s enter some.
A sausage sizzle is sausages cooked on the bbq, then wrapped in a slice of bread with onions and tomato sauce (ketchup). It's a very popular fundraising snack.
Mrs. Watson told us that we get to Skype with you next week. We are so excited to get to talk to you again! We think it is going to be soooo cool.
Some of us might bring pets to school even though we don't have a pet day. We have to ask our parents first. The rest of us will bring photos or draw pictures of our pets.

Dear Mrs McKenzie and B4,
ReplyDeleteWe do not have a pet day at Leopold Primary School here in Australia. It sounds like a fun day though. I hope it isn't too chaotic!
I don't have any pets but lots of the students in 2KM have a dog, cat, guinea pig, rabbit, fish or birds.
Look forward to reading more about your Pet Day!
Your friend,
