This Is Me!

We've had a lot of fun writing about ourselves.
We had to include an early memory; something that makes us laugh; a fun fact; and something that we love.
Mrs McK got the idea from 'The Writing Book'.

We made pictures of ourselves to go with our writing.
We saw this idea on our buddies' blog at Clyde School and asked if we could use it.
Thank you buddies!

We hope you like our stories.

Feeding the Calves

We are a rural town and many of the B4 children live on farms or have experienced farm life.
Spring is in the air and calves are arriving.
Calving is a busy time for families and
many of the children help out.
Feeding the calves has been a hot topic in class, and we hope you enjoy our stories.

Have you been around baby animals?

A Memorable Day

We've been learning to make deliberate word choices as we write, to add impact and interest.
We tried to use these skills as we wrote about a day that has been memorable to us.
We hope you enjoy our writing.

It's Time for Magnie to go Home

It's time for Magnie to go home to Burravoe.
He has had quite a long stay in New Zealand, first visiting the Super Scoopers in Dunedin, and then the Pirates of Rm 4 in Invercargill.

We made this book for Magnie's class:
Magnie Travels from Burravoe, Shetlands to Reefton,  New Zealand
We wonder how long it will take Magnie to get home?
Do you know how far he has to go?

Our Flat Stanley diaries

Our Flat Stanley project with 2KM and 2KJ is nearing an end.
Tomorrow we are making the final entries in the diaries and then the Australian
flat people will fly off home.
They have had a busy time while they were here.
We took them for a walk around town and took lots of photos.

Our flat friends came to the lunchtime disco last week,
they took part in athletics day and
they spent some time at our homes.
Some have been swimming, milking cows and horse-riding.

Take a sneak peek at our diaries!

Show, Don't Tell

Recently the children in Mr Salsich's class and
the children in Miss McGeady's class have been learning to show how a character feels by using descriptive words.

We enjoyed reading the descriptions so
this week we had a go too.

Show, Don't Tell.

Did you spot some descriptive similies?
Can you visualise how each person
was feeling?
