This week the school had a mufti day, sausage sizzle and lunchtime disco to raise money for the

We were pleased to find out that the school raised nearly $500!
Thanks to the Student Council for organising and running the day.
Here we are in our mufti clothes and at the disco.
Today the national Memorial service was being held in Christchurch, and our thoughts were with all who had lost loved ones.
Our thoughts are also with those caught up in the devastation in Japan.

What a fantastic job your student council has done in organising this fundraiser! I get the feeling that you are a very caring learning community. We are in Dunedin and have been hosting some children at our school while their families take a bit of a break... I know that they are so grateful and appreciative of all the help and support they are getting from children from around NZ.
ReplyDeleteDear B4,
ReplyDeleteWell done for being part of the Christchurch fundraising effort! $500 is a terrific effort! It just shows what you can do when you work together.
Last week we had a fundraising day too. It was called Crazy Hair Day and we had to make our hair look crazy and bring a gold coin ($1 or $2). We were raising money for the leukemia foundation.
I thought I should let you know that I sent back all the Flat People today. They are absolutely exhausted after their Australian adventures. I hope you get them back soon!
Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteOne of the best things about being an Area School is having older students showing leadership! Our student council has students for Yr 5-Yr 13 on it and they do a great job.
We have had some enrollments from Christchurch too, although some are now heading back to Christchurch.
