Well you certainly got more snow on the ground than we did up here in Paraparaumu. It fell but didn't settle for long. The faces say it all. What fun. Miss T
Dear B4, How fantastic! I imagine everyone must have been very excited. I know the students here get very excited every time it snows and I think we get snow a little more often than you do. How often does it snow in Reefton?
I would also love to hear what everyone did in the snow. Students here love to roll giant snowballs, make snow angels, and slide down hills.
My grade one (6-7 years old) students here in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada see snow just a few times a year and they are always excited to see it. It looks like you had a lot of fun in your snow. Did anyone try to make a snowman or a snow angel? Were you aloud to have a snowball fight? Enjoy your snow.
Oops, just noticed I wrote aloud instead of allowed. It must be because I'm on summer holidays right now. I do apologize for that mistake. Enjoy your snow!! Ms. Lirenman
It was so nice to see you having fun in the snow! Dunedin was closed today... I would love to have had some time to play with my class at school but Dunedin is built on hills and coming down in the snow and ice is not as easy as it sounds... All of our schools were closed today.
We had snow too - but in Hamilton! It was on our lunch break and I couldn't believe it. We were sure if it was hail or snow but it was defiantly snow, it was only for about thirty seconds or so, so I couldn't take any pictures like you did B4 but it was snowing... in Hamilton!
How exciting! It looks like everyone was having a grand time enjoying the snow! What was the air temperature throughout the day?
It NEVER snows where I live in southern California. However, it did ONCE. It was way back in 1988 or 1989! It got so cold at night that it snowed! I remember waking up and seeing my backyard all white. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my eyes because the grass was white, the trees were white, and the cars were all white! Sadly, the snow melted quickly as soon as the sun came up!
Dear B4 Wow that snow is fun I got to play in the snow. Teagan and I are making a BIG snowball. We are not going throw it at anyone. Maybe just one. Ha ha. from Paige
I did on the snow a snow angel and Mum took a photo. After that I did two snowmen but my little brother kicked it and I cry so I made another one and then Mum took a photo of me and my snow men that I made. Then I did a snow pillow and a snow boat.
Dear Mrs Meckinzie and b-4 we don't get any snow in australia because we're to dry and there will never be snow here what is like. from Tessa at harston
We had snow up here in Tokomaru too. We played in it. We had a snowman competition, helping each other build the biggest snowman we could! We liked your slideshow. It looked like you all had heaps of fun.
Our after school activities in the snow: "Me and my sisters played in the snow" Domonic "Me, my dad, brother, and sister built a fort and had a big snowball fight!" Ryan "When I got home I skidded in the snow" Tyler S "I went home and made a slushie with snow and Raro" Bailie "After school I went for a ride on my bike in the snow!" Lukaz "We went to the ranges to play in the snow" Jordan "Me and my dad made a giant snowman but it had collapsed by the next day!" Tessa "After school we made a giant snowball" Meghana "After school my brother and me put some snow in the freezer and then we put some dye on them so it was coloured snow" Annabelle "I threw a snowball at my dad when he came home from work! He got a fright!" Archie "Our roof was covered in snow and it fell off the roof" Shayde
Hi B4 - I saw a news report about the snow in New Zealand so it was exciting to see your post and video. Here in Adelaide it doesn't snow apart from VERY occasionally when there might be a slight sprinkle on one of the highest hills overlooking the city. When this happens everyone gets very excited! I can imagine how thrilling it must have been for you all to see so much snow. Was it all gone by the next day? Thank you for sharing the fun on your blog. From Room 3 and Mrs nelson
Dear b4 Hey be Good Today someone is going up For a Hoilday and Im Me Lukah so I am Not going To be Here For school in until 2 Weeks but im not going until March.
We saw on our news that you had had the worst snow for 50 years! It looks as if you made the most of having the snow - do you still have some hanging around on the hills? Here people say if it stays up high its waiting for the next lot to come! We get snow for at least a few days every year and everyone gets just as excited every time; we love it if we get a sunny day with the snow as it makes it much more fun to play outside. Snow angels and making igloos are among our favourite things to do - sledging is fun too!

Dear B4,
ReplyDeleteWOW snow. It would have been great fun to play in and see.It was quite cold here yesterday afternoon but not as cold as you were.
We don't get snow in this part of Australia. The closest that we get is frosts.
Some of our students have never seen snow as our nearest snow fields are about 3 hours away.
