Sand between Your Toes

Last year we put up a post about lost socks, and our friend Mr Salsich in America was quite intrigued by the idea that children in New Zealand often play in bare feet.
This week his class put up a post on their blog asking their New Zealand friends
about bare feet.
Mr Salsich's class thought it might be a good idea if they had a day to go bare foot in the classroom, but they needed some advice about whether or not
they would get cold or sore feet.
B4 children prepared their comments during writing time this morning,
before putting them up on Mr Salsich's blog

Check out what our children had to say.

Do you like to feel the grass under your feet and the sand between your toes?

  1. Dear Mrs. McKenzie and B4,

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on our blog! You have given us a lot to think about. I especially liked seeing your handwriting and pictures on this post.

When I was young, I would go all summer without shoes. We lived in the countryside by a river and we swam so much that it was a hassle to keep putting on and taking off shoes. I ran and played sports barefoot and even rode my bike without shoes. By the end of the summer my feet were very tough!

I still don’t wear shoes in the summer unless I am driving or going to the store. Then I just wear flip-flops. I love to walk on the beach in bare feet and see all the hundreds of foot prints in the sand.

If I had my choice, I would go barefoot as much as possible when the weather is warm. But here in America, people don't really walk around in public without shoes on.

    From,
    Mr. Salsich

  2. Dear B4 and Dylan,

I like to feel sand and grass between my toes too! I like it because it tickles and makes me laugh! Dylan, your writing was great and so was Lily's, Ganda's, Samantha's, and Jack's!
