'Big City Noises' - Repertory for Kids 2017

The Year 3s were excited to present their play at the school's Repertory for Kids evening.
Uncle Shane and his dog have come for a visit. The family are taking him by bus to their place.
It's noisy in the city,
but it's not the noises that worry
Bruno the dog .....

Year 3's play: Little Monster goes to School

One of our school's annual events is Repertory for Kids.
The primary classes prepare plays - the guidelines are
no more than  three props, and the students
have to take charge of getting the plays ready.
This year the plays are around the theme of anti-bullying.
B4's Year 3 present their play 'Little Monster goes to School'.
In our play, Little Monster's classmates stand up for him.

It's important to stand up against bullies.
What are some other ways of preventing bullying?

Visit our school Repertory page to see the plays from the other classes.

Year 2s play: Snail of the Century

All term, the Year 2s have been practising a play.
They have had to remember their lines, stay in role as their character, and speak in a clear voice.
Now they have presented it at assembly.

"Can We Play?' - Repertory for Kids

Last night was our annual 'Repertory for Kids' night at school.
The Year 3s have worked hard over the term to learn their words and decide on their actions.

Our play is called 'Can We Play?'

Did you enjoy our play?
What do you think we did well?

'Fire!' - a play presented by Year 3

Repertory for Kids is always a hit at our school.
This year, B4's Year 3s presented a play called 'Fire!'
The animals all have reasons why they should be the first to drink from the waterhole.
By the end of the play they realise that they can work together to solve a problem,
and that they can share the waterhole.

Did you enjoy our play?
Could you hear us clearly?

Absolutely Not!

The Year 2 students from B4 presented their play
at assembly.
The wily lion has his recipe book and is inviting the animals to play a hiding game in his cooking pot.
Will they get tricked into being eaten?
Absolutely not!

Thanks to Year 3 student Olivia for the video footage.

How did we do?
Were our voices clear and easily heard?

Repertory for Kids: 'Rain, Rain, Go Away'

Our school held its annual Repertory for Kids production
this week.
The idea is that as part of our English and Arts programmes the students rehearse, prepare props and present
a short play.
This year the Year 3 students from B4 presented
'Rain, Rain, Go Away'.

Reading the script to learn our words
Getting used to the stage

We hope you enjoy our play:

How do you feel when you are on stage?
Have you ever been in a play?

Repertory for Kids 2012

One of our annual school events is
'Repertory for Kids'.
The idea is that students adapt a school journal play, use a minimum of props and present their play on stage to family and friends.
Sit back and enjoy
as Year 3 present 'The King's Parade'.
and Year 2 present 'The Ant and the Grasshoppers'.

During the term we looked at the features of a playscript compared to a fiction narrative.
Here is the Venn model we made with the ideas
we came up with:

Have you ever acted or performed on stage?
Do you get nervous or excited?

Repertory for Kids

This term the Year 4s have been practising hard for their plays for our school Repertory night.
What a great night we had, with plays performed by students from Year 4 up to Year 9.
Our thanks go to Ina and Sandy who have given the children so much help.
Rosealeigha, Geneva and Nikaya presented 'Too Much Noise' and Brandon, Ophelia, Mihi, Thor and Jenna presented 'Counting Crocodiles'.
