In writing we are exploring language resources used by writers to engage the reader.
One of them is onomatopoeia.
Onomatopoeia
is the name we use to describe
words that sound like the object or action they name.
We read some books, identified examples of onomatopoeia, and made pictures to illustrate the words.
We will be practicing using onomatopoeia to liven up our writing.
Can you add some more examples of onomatopoeia?
Hi there B4
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing learning! I am so impressed. I can't wait to show my Mindful Monkeys this tomorrow. Perhaps we could use your examples as inspiration. We have some examples of onomatopoeia on our window. I will wait and let the kids tell you what they are!
Well done!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment.
We have been useing Onomatopeia in our writing and the word that I used was thump. I used it because it hooked me in. I liked the word that Tori used it was fantastic and I also liked Nicholas.I never thought of Zoom and Squeak and Clang and also Roar. They all are good words. I can`t choose which one.
