Loom Bands - What Do You Think?

Do you have a loom band craze at your school?
These colourful little rubber bands are used to make bracelets, necklaces and have even been used elsewhere to make a dress!

Here are some of the beautiful creations made by
students in B4:

But could loom bands also be a problem for our environment, our animals and even our younger brothers and sisters?

Take a look at this video from Hamilton Zoo.

Have you joined the loom band craze?
What do you do with all of your loom bands?

How can we keep babies, animals and our environment safe?
What do you think?

  3. We love loom bands. In fact Mrs P runs a Loom Band Club at school during lunchtime. You can make all sorts of amazing things out of them. You have to be careful not to hurt yourself by pulling on them too tightly when they're wound around your fingers, and not ping them at people. You also should keep them away from your mouth - you shouldn't swallow loom bands, and neither should animals. It was sad to see this article from Hamilton Zoo, we were very pleased the meerkat was okay. We will be careful what we do with our loom bands and the ones we don't want from now on.

  4. Hi Room 4. I do looms. I've made six loom bracelets. I keep my looms in a draw and they are in a zip lock bag.

      Thank you for your comment!
In B4 we decided that we need to keep our loom bands away from animals and little children, so we are pleased that you keep yours in a drawer.

Will you make more loom band bracelets?

    I have loom bands.
Every day I play with my loom bands and make bracelets.
The first time I made them it only had one band on each of them but now when I make them it has 3 rubber bands on each loom band.
