Following an invite from Mrs Soltau-Heller's class in Canada,
we are taking part in
an 'eggciting eggsperiment'.
Classes anywhere have been invited to take part!
Check out this wiki to find out what to do.
Day 1 (27 March)
We covered our egg with white vinegar.
It wasn't long before we noticed bubbles beginning to form
on the egg.
On Day 2 we will drain the vinegar and make observations about the egg before putting it back into more vinegar.
Then we will leave it alone for a week.
What will happen?
Check out our predictions here!
What do you think will happen?
Leave us a comment with your predictions.
Keep checking back to see what happens over the next week.
Dear B4,
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Leah from 4KM.
This eggsperiment sounds very fun!
I have never tryed this eggsperiment your doing before but I'd like to.
I think that the egg shell will start to come off and it will be like putting them in hot water.

Dear Mrs. McKenzie and B4,
ReplyDeleteI sure do love science and the egg experiment is one of my favourites! I enjoyed reading your predictions and am looking forward to seeing what happens with your egg.
Have you ever put chicken bones in vinegar? It is very interesting too.
Your friend,

Dear B4,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Royce, and I am from Mrs. Yollis' class. I agree, your post is really eggciting!
I checked out your predictions, and the one I think will come true is probably Madison's prediction. "The shell will break." In my opinion, that is a really good prediction. I also predict that the shell will break.
My other prediction is the egg will turn a different color, kind of like "After lots of days I think it will be blue and spotty."
I do not like eggs, but every Easter, my family dyes eggs different colors. Then we get to write words on them.
Sincerely,
Royce
Dear B4,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mia, and I am from Mrs. Yollis' class. Your post is very eggciting!
I agree with Madison, the shell will eventually break. I do not want to be there when it happens because the yolk might explode!
My brother is in 5th grade and for a science project, he had to take a paper cup and fill it with water. After he filled it to the brim, he put it in the freezer. The point of the project was to see what would happen after a week of water in the freezer.
When he took the cup out, it was solid ice! BRRRRR! Plus, it had expanded. The water level was above the brim. Cool!
Sincerely,
M♥a (Yollis, California)
