It looks like you had a lot of fun during your science day. Great pictures! We are learning about matter in Science and have enjoyed doing the different experiments.

We wanted to come and wish Mrs McKenzie a Happy Mothers Day! We hope you enjoy the cake your daughter will be making for you.

Always a pleasure to come on to your blog and see the wonderful things your class have been learning!

  3. Hi B4
That looked like a really fun round of Science experiments - what a great way to finish off your Science Week! I really liked the way that you were mixed into groups from different classes so that you got a chance to work with other children and share ideas. I would love to know what Hokey Pokey is, and how you used it in a Science Experiment!

    1. Dear Mrs Monaghan
Hokey Pokey is made by heating sugar and golden syrup and then adding bicarbonate of soda (baking soda).

When you add the soda the mixture goes frothy and you have to pour it quickly into a dish before it hardens.

      It tastes YUMMY!
Have you ever tried it? Some people might have a different name for it.

    2. Thanks for your description, B4 - I think that we would call it 'cinder toffee'. We have a chocolate bar called a Crunchie, and that is the inside, wrapped in milk chocolate... it's delicious!

  6. Dear B4,
Your video had me wanting to visit your class even more than I already do. I absolutely love science!

You certainly had some wonderful activities to visit. Did you get to choose which seven activities you did?

There were a few on the list that are new to me and I would love to give them a try. Sherbet Fizz, Hokey Pokey, and Taste Bud sensations all sound like fun, even if I'm not sure exactly what they are.

What were your favourites? Have any of you tried to make a Mentos fountain (I really like that one)?

    Your friend,
    Mrs. Watson
