Some New Friends for Quicksilver

Quicksilver the Kea has been our B4 class mascot
since early in 2011.
The children love reading to Quicksilver and including him in games at playtimes.
Last year he even got to go home with the students
for a night each!
This year he has some new friends.
He wants you to meet
Squirmy Wormy
and Mr Beezley
Quicksilver is excited to have these new friends.

Does your class have a class mascot?
Maybe your class mascot could introduce themselves to Quicksilver, Squirmy Wormy and Mr Beezley.

  2. Dear B4,

I love your mascots Quicksilver, Squirmy Wormy, and Mr. Beezley. That is terrific that Quicksilver has some friends in the classroom.

Our class has two mascots, Panda and Beverly. Panda is very wise and patient. He always tries to help people out. Beverly is a bit of a scamp! (A scamp is fun word that means mischievous in a likable or amusing way.) Beverly doesn't always listen to directions, but has a lot of spirit.

I'll see if I can get either one of them to comment to your friends.

What kind of a personality do Squirmy Wormy and Mr. Beezley have? Are either of them scamps?

    1. Dear Mrs Yollis
I'm Quicksilver and I want to tell you about my new friends. I liked hearing that Panda is wise and patient, because Mr Beezley is a bit like that too.
Before Mr Beezley came to B4 he lived in the dental clinic, and long ago he lived, of course, in a crowded beehive and now he has lots of wise things to tell us about getting on with others.
Every so often Mr Beezley will share his wisdom with the B4 children. For instance today he said, "Bee kind."

Squirmy Wormy has been well-behaved so far, but she does have a twinkle in her eye!

Please say hello to Panda and Beverly for me!

  3. Dear B4,

These are brilliant mascots. Having seen many kea when I've been in New Zealand, Quicksilver is a favourite but I really like your new mascots. Quicksilver now has some wonderfully colourful friends to Share B4s adventures.

  4. Hello B4!
Here in A Room with a View we have a special mascot called Fifi, she's a French grenouille (you can find out what that means and see what she gets up to at Fifi's Travels on our blog page, on the right!) She helps us by playing games in French, and likes to go on adventures with children from the class. She loves to go home with them and meet their pets! I think she would like to meet Mr Beezley, Quicksilver and Squirmy, but it's a bit of a long way to travel for her!

  5. Hi B4,
Having a class mascot is definitely alot of fun so I'm sure you will have an extra good time with three mascots! I remember last year when the children in B4 voted for the name `Quicksilver' and I wonder how you chose the names for your new mascots? We also have a new mascot in our classroom ..... The Gruffalo! He is a cheeky little fellow and I'm sure he would love to be friends with your mascots. Can't wait to hear about all of the adventures you have together. Have fun!

  7. Dear Mrs McKenzie and B4,

We have a class mascot from New Zealand and his name is Richie the All Black. He is a white, fluffy bear and he wears an All Black rugby uniform. Our teacher named our class mascot after the Richie McCaw because he has the number 7 on his back.

We all take turns taking him home and writing what we did with him in his book. He has been on a lot of adventures while he has been here. He has travelled to Florida, Texas, Pittsburgh and passed through the states of Mississippi, Lousiana, Georgia, Alabama and Virginia.

At school we get to hear about Richie's adventures with the students in our class.

We have great times with Richie and he loves learning about the U.S.A.

Richie says a big Kia Ora to Quiksilver the Kea, Squirmy Wormy and Mr Beezley.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Jordyn and I were glad to see Quicksilver, Squirmy Wormy, and Mr. Beezely. We thought Quicksilver was the cutest of them all.

Did people get to bring all of them home?

Are there going to be some new friends soon?
